Trensurb signs order to reconstruct Porto Alegre Aeromóvel
Trensurb has signed the service order to begin the reconstruction of the Aeromóvel system in Porto Alegre. The system has been out of service since the floods in May 2024, which damaged technical rooms and propulsion equipment at the Airport Station and Salgado Filho Airport Terminal 1.
The first contract, worth R$ 9.9 million, has been awarded to Aerom Sistemas de Transporte. The total investment for the project, funded through the Novo PAC de Mobilidade Urbana, is expected to reach R$ 40 million. The reconstruction work is scheduled to take 12 months.
In addition to replacing damaged equipment, the project includes renovating technical rooms and elevating structures to mitigate the risk of future flooding. The Aeromóvel is a pneumatic propulsion system that connects the Airport Station to Terminal 1 of the Salgado Filho Airport.
