Trent Fair sentenced to 21 years for child exploitation

Trent Fair, a 31-year-old man from the Twin Cities, has been sentenced to 260 months in federal prison followed by 20 years of supervised release for the coercion and enticement of a minor.

Fair was arrested in Fairfax, Virginia, in January 2025. Court documents reveal he groomed a 15-year-old girl online to obtain sexually explicit videos and traveled from Minnesota to Virginia to engage in sexual activity with her.

During the investigation, law enforcement discovered that Fair had used social media to target multiple children, some as young as 10 years old. Fair admitted to producing child pornography involving at least a “few dozen” minor victims over several years. The investigation was a collaborative effort involving the FBI, the Fairfax County Police Department, and the Minneapolis Police Department.
