Trent Frederic discusses injury struggles with Edmonton Oilers

Trent Frederic has addressed the challenges faced during the 2025-26 season with the Edmonton Oilers, citing persistent injury issues as a primary factor for his performance decline. After being acquired from the Boston Bruins, Frederic struggled with a high-ankle sprain that hampered his ability to contribute effectively, resulting in only four goals and seven points during his first full season in Edmonton.

Despite a disappointing campaign that saw him frequently as a healthy scratch, Frederic is expected to enter the 2026-27 season fully healthy. He will also benefit from a coaching change, moving from Kris Knoblauch to new head coach Mike Babcock.
