Trentino-Alto Adige reports 170 car and 120 motorcycle thefts in one year
In the Trentino-Alto Adige region, 170 cars and over 120 motorcycles or scooters were stolen within a single year. According to data from the Ministry of the Interior analyzed by Facile.it, the region recorded the second-lowest number of vehicle thefts in Italy, surpassed only by Valle d'Aosta.
Within the region, Bolzano recorded the highest number of thefts with 89 cars, 35 motorcycles, and 45 scooters. Trento followed with 81 car thefts, 27 motorcycle thefts, and 16 scooter thefts. Approximately 24.5% of motorists in the area have opted for theft protection insurance.
In a separate incident in San Leonardo in Passiria, Carabinieri intercepted a 34-year-old man and his 28-year-old wife. The man was caught using a drill to break into vehicles belonging to Austrian tourists while his wife acted as a lookout.
