Trentino housing program faces high demand as requests exceed 5 million euros

A subsidized rental housing program in Trentino, Italy, has seen demand significantly exceed its initial financial projections. Following a seven-week application window from August 24 to October 12, requests for the 264 available units have surpassed 5 million euros.

On average, requests for each housing unit exceed 18,939 euros, which represents at least 75.8% of the maximum ordinary contribution. Given the standard 25,000 euro cap, the current level of funding requests suggests that theoretical coverage may only reach approximately 200 housing units, falling short of the 264 available.

The program allows for rent to be set at 15% below market rates. Applications were submitted by various parties, including at least 151 individuals. The Valsugana region reported high interest, while at least 37 requests originated from other areas.
