Trento to host meeting on citizen assemblies and participatory democracy

An event titled ‘Participation and democracy, but how? Trento towards the Assembly of citizens’ will be held on September 15 at the Muse conference hall in Trento. The meeting aims to explore the mechanics of participatory democracy and discuss the requirements for establishing citizen assemblies as a stable tool within the municipal administration.

The program includes contributions from Muse Director Massimo Bernardi, Trento Councilor for Ecological and Digital Transition Andreas Fernandez, and various researchers and facilitators. The session will feature a review of a 2024 simulation conducted in Trento and will conclude with a workshop designed to reflect on how such assemblies can become legitimate instruments for local governance.
