Treptow-Köpenick introduces first parking fee zone in Alt-Treptow

The Treptow-Köpenick district office has decided to introduce parking management in Alt-Treptow, marking the first parking fee zone in the district. The new regulation will affect more than 2,000 parking spaces.

Under the new rules, parking fees will be charged Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Local residents with a resident parking permit, as well as those with specific exemptions, will be exempt from these regular fees.

The measure aims to reduce parking pressure caused by commuters and visitors from neighboring districts like Neukölln, Kreuzberg, and Friedrichshain, who have previously used the area to avoid parking costs. A joint working group involving the Roads and Green Spaces Office, the Regulatory Office, and the Citizens' Office is coordinating the implementation.
