Trepuzzi school incident involves six-year-old with knife in backpack

A six-year-old student was found with a 13-centimeter kitchen knife in his backpack at a primary school in Trepuzzi, in the province of Lecce. The incident occurred on a Thursday morning when a classmate alerted a teacher to the object.

Following the discovery, school management was notified and the Carabinieri intervened. The Mayor of Trepuzzi, Giuseppe Maria Taurino, issued a statement to reassure parents and the public, noting that the situation is under control. He stated that the school administration is working alongside municipal social services and competent authorities to investigate the circumstances of how the knife ended up in the child's bag.
