Tresnal aims to increase beef exports to 40% of production
Argentine meatpacking company Tresnal is implementing a strategy to expand its international presence, aiming for exports to account for 40% of its total production by next year. Currently, exports represent approximately 10% of its output, as the company has historically focused on domestic consumption.
During the SIAL trade fair in Paris, Tresnal head Martín Lacasse outlined plans to consolidate the company's presence in Europe while increasing operations in the United States. The company is also exploring commercial opportunities in Canada and Israel. Having already secured authorization to export to the United States, Tresnal is now seeking a quota to benefit from better tariff conditions.
To support this growth, the company is investing in infrastructure and improving carcass utilization to access premium markets. Lacasse noted that while there is firm demand in Europe for high-quality cuts, buyers have applied pressure to reduce prices.
