Trespasses TV series premieres on PBS

The television adaptation of Louise Kennedy’s novel ‘Trespasses’ is set to premiere on PBS in the United States on September 20. The four-part limited series is set in 1975 Belfast during the Troubles and follows the story of Cushla Lavery, a Catholic schoolteacher played by Lola Petticrew.

The plot centers on a clandestine affair between Cushla and Michael Agnew, an older, married Protestant barrister played by Tom Cullen. As their relationship deepens, the narrative explores the tensions between duty, family, and desire amidst the political unrest of Northern Ireland.

Gillian Anderson portrays Gina, Cushla’s troubled and alcoholic mother. The series, which previously aired on Channel 4 in the United Kingdom, will be available for streaming on PBS Passport and via PBS Masterpiece on Prime Video.
