Trevelin tulip fields begin annual spring bloom in Patagonia

The tulip fields in Trevelin, located in the Chubut province of Argentine Patagonia, are entering their annual blooming season. The spectacle features millions of bulbs across approximately 30 varieties, creating multicolored rows of red, yellow, pink, violet, and white flowers set against the backdrop of the snow-capped Andes Mountains.

The project originated in 1996 when the Ledesma family planted the first 100 bulbs. Today, the fields host over 2.3 million tulips. The blooming period typically runs from early October through the first week of November, with the peak display expected between October 15 and early November.

As part of the Welsh Route, the site offers various visitor experiences, including guided daytime tours, nighttime photography sessions, and regional gastronomy such as Welsh tea and sweets. The fields are open daily from 9:00 to 19:00 until November 7.
