Treviso Mayor calls for expulsion following fatal assault

Treviso Mayor Mario Conte has called for the expulsion of foreign nationals who commit serious crimes following the arrest of two Indian citizens. The individuals, aged 26 and 27, are suspected of involvement in the preterintentional homicide of Dupinder Jeet Singh.

Singh died in a Treviso hospital on July 14 after being assaulted in a park on via Pasubio on July 4. The Mayor praised the Carabinieri for their operation but emphasized that legal compliance is a prerequisite for residency. Conte stated that while the city remains welcoming to those who work and respect the community, those who choose violence and disregard civil rules should face certain consequences, including deportation when permitted by law.
