Treviso parish to reopen Monigo dormitory for homeless residents

The Monigo dormitory, located at the Sant’Elena Imperatrice parish in Treviso, is scheduled to reopen on November 1, 2026, to provide shelter for homeless individuals during the winter months. The facility will operate until January 31, 2027, with the possibility of an extension depending on resource availability and volunteer commitment.

The structure will provide 12 fixed beds nightly, with the capacity to expand to 15 beds in response to emergency needs. The initiative is a collaborative effort between the Monigo Parish and a coordination of local volunteer associations, including Auser Treviso, Auser Cittadini del Mondo ODV, and several other community groups.

Funding for the project was secured through a community fundraising campaign that collected 21,314 euros in cash, 500 euros in vouchers, and numerous donations of food and essential goods from local citizens and businesses.
