Treviso: Two workers die in separate fatal accidents
Two fatal workplace accidents occurred on Thursday, September 10, 2026, in the via Lodovico Seitz area of Treviso, Italy, during construction and expansion activities.
In one incident, a 60-year-old worker employed by an external company was crushed by a forklift in front of the De Longhi headquarters. The body was discovered shortly after 2:00 PM. The Uil Veneto union responded to the tragedy, noting that the region currently ranks second nationally for workplace deaths. Union leader Roberto Toigo called for urgent changes to work organization to prevent such occurrences.
In a separate incident at the same site, a 65-year-old worker died after a tractor he was operating fell into a ditch. The cause of the accident is under investigation. The company CEV expressed deep condolences, stating that the deceased was an experienced worker and emphasizing that personnel safety remains a priority. Authorities and emergency services, including the fire brigade and medical personnel, attended the scene to investigate the circumstances of both deaths.
