Trevor Bauer to debut with Estrellas Orientales on October 27

Pitcher Trevor Bauer is set to make his debut with the Estrellas Orientales in the Dominican Winter League (LIDOM). Although initial reports suggested a November arrival, Bauer announced via social media that he will make his first start on Tuesday, October 27, against the Águilas Cibaeñas.

Albert Pujols González, the team's operations manager, confirmed that Bauer has been coordinating his preparation with manager Héctor Borg and pitching coach Jairo Cuevas. The veteran right-hander, a 2020 Cy Young winner, expressed significant enthusiasm for playing in the Dominican Republic.

Bauer's signing, which followed negotiations in Mexico involving Ángel Ovalles, has generated high expectations. While specific contract details remain unconfirmed, there has been speculation regarding a salary exceeding $60,000. The Estrellas Orientales currently hold a 2-2 record as they look to integrate Bauer into their rotation for the remainder of the regular season.
