Trevor Evans appointed CEO of Container Exchange
Container Exchange (COEX) has officially appointed Trevor Evans as its Chief Executive Officer. Evans, who has served as the organization’s Interim CEO since January 2026, was unanimously selected by the Board following a recruitment process.
Board Chair Andrew Clark noted that Evans has demonstrated strong leadership and a capacity to build relationships with government, industry, and operators. The appointment is intended to provide continuity as COEX works to improve Queensland’s container refund scheme, known as Containers for Change.
Evans brings a background in industry, government, and recycling. He is the former CEO of the National Retail Association and previously served as the Federal Member for Brisbane. During his time in government, he became Australia’s first dedicated minister responsible for recycling, waste, and sustainability.
