Trevor Jung faces investigation allegations in Wisconsin Senate race

Trevor Jung, the Democratic candidate for Wisconsin’s 21st Senate District and current Racine transit director, is facing allegations regarding whether he campaigned during city working hours. While Republican opponents have informed voters that Jung is under investigation, District Attorney Patricia Hanson stated she has been unable to find a law enforcement agency willing to conduct the inquiry.

Hanson described the complaint, which reached her office in late September, as a “hot potato,” noting that the Racine County Sheriff’s Office has not taken up the case. Jung has denied the claims, stating, “I have not, do not, and will not campaign on City time.” The City of Racine has not yet released the time records that would be required to verify the allegations.

The election for the open seat, previously held by Republican Van Wanggaard, will take place on November 3, with Jung facing Republican Jim Croft.
