Trevor Nelson returns to BBC Radio 2 after brain tumour surgery

Broadcaster Trevor Nelson has returned to BBC Radio 2 following major surgery for a brain tumour. The 62-year-old presenter resumed his two-hour show on Monday, marking a staggered return after an emotional summer.

Nelson, who had previously taken a break in June citing health issues without disclosing specifics, revealed his diagnosis and the subsequent serious operation. During his return broadcast, he described the experience of his illness as feeling like he had been ‘hijacked’ and noted that the support from listeners, family, and colleagues helped him through his ‘darkest moments.’

Nelson expressed his disappointment at being unable to attend the Radio 2 in the Park event in Stirling. He is scheduled to return to his full-time broadcasting duties on September 28.
