Trevor Nelson reveals brain tumour diagnosis and recovery

Broadcaster Trevor Nelson has revealed he is recovering from a brain tumour, which prompted his recent hiatus from his BBC Radio 2 and Radio 1Xtra duties. The 62-year-old shared the news via social media, explaining that the diagnosis and subsequent “very serious surgery” had turned his world upside-down.

Nelson stated that he stepped away from his work commitments earlier this summer to focus on medical reasons and recovery. He described the experience as shocking and noted that he felt he could not continue broadcasting while dealing with the situation.

Following the successful operation, Nelson reported that he is feeling “great,” “energised,” and “raring to go.” He has begun post-operative treatment and has already returned to physical activities such as the gym and golf. He expressed intentions to return to his radio work in the near future.
