TRF-3 establishes new Federal Courts in Mato Grosso do Sul

The Federal Regional Court of the 3rd Region (TRF-3) has officially authorized the establishment of second Federal Courts in the sub-sections of Três Lagoas, Corumbá, and Naviraí in Mato Grosso do Sul. This move aims to decentralize the judiciary and address the rising volume of legal cases in the state's interior.

These new judicial units will handle a wide range of matters, including civil, criminal, environmental, and health law, as well as Special Federal Courts (JEFs). They are specifically tasked with managing cases involving transnational border crimes, agrarian disputes, money laundering, financial system fraud, and non-prosecution criminal agreements (ANPP).

The expansion follows Federal Law No. 15.401/2026, which authorized the creation of six judicial units in the state, including Bonito, Ponta Porã, and Dourados. The physical installation of secretariats and the appointment of staff are scheduled to follow a technical timeline to be defined within 2026. The new courts will cover strategic economic and security zones, such as the agro-industrial corridor in Naviraí and the rapidly industrializing cellulose sector in Três Lagoas.
