TÜRGEV GİF Music project brings musicians to Skopje
Young musicians from Turkey and North Macedonia are gathering in Skopje from September 18 to 27 for the GİF MUSIC project. Organized by TÜRGEV under the Erasmus+ Youth Accreditation, the initiative aims to bridge Turkish and Balkan musical cultures.
In collaboration with International Balkan University, the program involves 41 participants who will engage in three specialized workshops: Turkish Music, Balkan Music, and a Synthesis Workshop. During these sessions, musicians will explore melodic and rhythmic elements to create a new, shared repertoire.
The project marks the first international stage appearance for GİF Music, an extension of the Güzel İşler Fabrikası (GİF) which has operated for nine years. The event will culminate in a final concert titled ‘Traces: Where Sounds Meet’, featuring original arrangements and compositions produced by the participants.
