Târgu Jiu signs 60 million‑lei water and sewage upgrade contract

A contract worth 60.785 million lei (excluding VAT) was signed on 8 July to modernise the water supply and sewage systems in the south‑east area of Târgu Jiu, Romania. The agreement, identified as CL4, appoints a consortium of DECONSTRUCT AG SRL (lead) and HYDROSTROY AD (partner) to carry out the work over a 26‑month period. The project includes replacing main and secondary water distribution pipes, rehabilitating household sewage networks, modernising major collectors, and constructing a new sewage pumping station (SPAU 06) with an associated discharge pipeline. The upgrades target numerous streets and neighbourhoods, aiming to improve service quality, reduce water losses, enhance system safety, and bring the infrastructure up to European standards, according to Aparegio.
