Mureș Ambulance Service digitizes with PNRR funds; Parliament passes law for Pfizer debt settlement

The Mureș County Ambulance Service has utilized approximately 600,000 euros from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) to digitalize its operations. The project, which is 100% physically complete and 99% financially realized, includes the acquisition of hardware such as computers, servers, printers, and uninterruptible power supplies. Software implementation is ongoing and expected to be fully functional within a month, aiming to improve medical assistance and transparency.

Separately, the Romanian Parliament has adopted a law establishing a framework for the state to negotiate and conclude transactions to settle legal disputes. This legislation could facilitate the settlement of a debt exceeding 600 million euros owed to Pfizer following a court ruling regarding unused COVID-19 vaccine doses. The law passed with 198 votes in favor and 75 against, prompting opposition members to announce plans to challenge the measure at the Constitutional Court.
