Tri Ton broken rice owner addresses pricing controversy

Khang Quách, the owner of the ‘Com tam Tri Ton’ restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City, has addressed social media controversies regarding the pricing and authenticity of his dishes. The debate was sparked by viral content on platforms like TikTok and Facebook, where some users claimed a single plate of broken rice cost 170,000 VND.

Quách clarified that the 170,000 VND figure refers to a total bill including multiple side dishes rather than the price of a single standard plate. He stated that a basic portion costs 60,000 VND, while a full portion with all accompaniments is 80,000 VND.

The restaurant, which features ingredients like fried shrimp and tung lo mo instead of traditional grilled pork ribs, has received mixed reviews from content creators. While some diners praised the shrimp, others criticized the meat texture and the balance of side dishes relative to the price.
