Trial begins for two teenagers accused of Luis Guembes murder

The murder trial of two teenagers accused of killing 15-year-old Luis Guembes has commenced at Guildford Crown Court. The prosecution alleges that the defendants lured Guembes to a secluded area of Stoke Park in Guildford on January 19 following a dispute over a broken mobile phone.

Prosecutors claim the teenagers planned to rob Guembes to settle a debt. During the proceedings, the jury was shown a Snapchat video in which one defendant allegedly admitted to the stabbing, stating, “I stabbed him, bro and I think [Defendant 2] did as well.”

Guembes died at the scene from multiple stab wounds to his head, shoulder, and back. The defendants, who are 16 years old, deny murder but face additional charges including conspiracy to rob and possession of a knife. One defendant has reportedly pleaded guilty to the knife possession charge.
