Trial begins in the murder of Danka Ilić

The trial has commenced for the murder of two-year-old Danka Ilić, whose body has not yet been recovered. During a closed preparatory hearing, parties in the proceedings will present opening statements before a date for the main trial is set.

Dejan Dragijević and Srđan Janković are charged with complicity in aggravated murder. Prosecutors allege that on March 26, in Banjsko Polje near Bor, the suspects used a vehicle from the public utility company 'Vodovod' to strike the girl before placing her in a vehicle. It is suspected they moved her body to a landfill. The prosecution is seeking life imprisonment for both defendants.

While Radoslav Dragijević was originally charged, the proceedings against him have been suspended. Additionally, Dejan Dragijević’s brother, Dalibor Dragijević, died in police custody in Bor on April 7, 2024.
