Montenegro courts extend detention for Ivanović brothers in Bar murder case
The Supreme Court of Montenegro has extended the detention of Dragoslav and Duško Ivanović for up to three months, until January 24, 2027. The brothers are suspected of the premeditated murder of Mij Adrović in Bar on July 24, 2026.
The incident reportedly began as a verbal dispute over vehicle damage, which escalated into a physical confrontation. The suspects are alleged to have fired multiple shots at the victim, who died at the scene. The court cited the severity of the crime, the risk of flight, and the suspects' prior criminal records—including previous convictions for murder and illegal possession of weapons—as grounds for the extension.
In separate legal proceedings in Podgorica, a trial is ongoing regarding the alleged planned liquidation of Veljko Belivuk and Marko Miljković. Defendant Janko Vukadinović has challenged the legality of photographic evidence presented by the prosecution, claiming it was obtained through unlawful undercover methods.
