Triangle survey reveals gaps in cyber recovery readiness

A survey conducted by Triangle Technology Services among 130 IT and security decision-makers reveals that many organisations struggle with cyber recovery readiness. While companies are increasingly investing in AI to prevent cyberattacks, there is a significant gap in their ability to recover from breaches once they occur.

The report found that 64% of companies are missing a key risk remediation. Although 62% of respondents confirmed they have isolated backups, only 36% could validate the integrity of that data when required. Other findings include that 51% of organisations have a clean recovery environment, 62% have a coordinated recovery team, and 49% have tested or rehearsed their recovery processes within the last 12 months.

Michelle Harris, Director of Cyber Recovery at Triangle Technology Services, noted that recovery readiness has become a critical business issue. She highlighted that while the UK’s National Cyber Security Centre has shifted its focus from prevention to assuming breaches will occur, this mindset has not yet fully permeated many organisations.
