Tribal leaders in Şırnak support Turkey’s new solidarity law

Tribal leaders, community elders, and representatives from various civil society organizations gathered in the Cizre district of Şırnak to express their support for the “Law on Strengthening National Solidarity and Social Integration” recently passed by the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.

Süleyman İğdi, the Şırnak Provincial President of the Grand Confederation of Tribes, described the legislation as a critical and hopeful step toward the goal of a “terror-free Turkey.” The group emphasized that the law provides a necessary legal foundation for social consensus, brotherhood, and stability.

In their joint statement, the leaders called for the process to be managed through inclusive, transparent, and rational dialogue mechanisms. They stressed the importance of constitutional guarantees and universal legal principles to build public trust. Additionally, the group highlighted the need for a simultaneous socio-economic development plan, focusing on increasing investments in agriculture, livestock, and industry, as well as creating employment opportunities for the youth to ensure lasting security.
