Tribunal de Justiça do Acre disburses $7.1 million in judicial allowances, honors former judge

The Tribunal de Justiça do Acre (TJAC) paid R$7.13 million in indemnities and occasional allowances to judges and magistrates for May and June 2024, according to data compiled by CNN Brazil from the CNJ’s remuneration portal. The amount placed Acre 14th among Brazil’s state courts, which together reported R$722.8 million in similar payments during the period. In May, 23 courts recorded R$479.9 million in such expenses, and in June, partial data from 15 courts showed R$242.9 million. The highest individual state totals were the Rio de Janeiro court (R$110.6 million), Paraná (R$62.3 million) and Rio Grande do Sul (R$61.5 million), all under new Supreme Court limits on judicial remuneration.

On 21 March, the TJAC president, Judge Laudivon Nogueira, presented a tribute to retired Justice Jersey Pacheco, who led the court from 1995 to 1997. The ceremony included a commemorative plaque and remarks recalling Pacheco’s administrative initiatives—such as procuring a boat, renovating the official residence, and installing a well at a former courthouse—and praised his humanitarian approach and lasting impact on the Acre judiciary.
