Tricarico hosts Mario Trufelli Journalism Award for young professionals

The Mario Trufelli Journalism Award ceremony was held in Tricarico to honor the legacy of journalist Mario Trufelli and celebrate the work of Renato Cantore, the initiative's creator.

Designed by Cantore, the award aims to support the next generation of information professionals by providing a platform for young journalists to demonstrate their technical skills, talent, and commitment. The initiative focuses on journalism as a civic duty, emphasizing the importance of listening to local communities and reporting with rigor and responsibility.

Renato Cantore, recognized for his professional career at Rai and his cultural research into the identity of Basilicata, envisioned the prize as a way to transform the memory of Trufelli into a concrete opportunity for aspiring journalists to showcase their work.
