Trident Group and Panjab University host national decarbonisation hackathon

Trident Group and Panjab University’s University Institute of Chemical Engineering and Technology (Dr. SSBUICET) recently concluded DECARBONIX 1.0, a national-level hackathon centered on sustainability and industrial decarbonisation.

The event’s grand finale, held on September 18 and 19, featured 23 finalist teams selected from a nationwide pool of 174 teams representing 86 institutions across 21 Indian states and union territories. Participants were tasked with addressing real-world challenges related to an integrated textile and paper manufacturing campus, focusing on identifying decarbonisation opportunities and assessing their commercial viability.

MIT-World Peace University, Pune, secured the first prize of ₹75,000, while IIT Roorkee earned the second prize of ₹50,000. Two third-place prizes of ₹25,000 each were also awarded. The competition, which featured a total prize pool of ₹1.75 lakh, was evaluated by a panel of academic and industry experts from Trident Group.
