Trier and Mosel regions face upcoming road closures
Multiple road construction projects are set to cause traffic disruptions in the Trier and Mosel regions of Germany.
In Trier, a rolling construction site for fiber optic expansion by Telekom is active in Tarforst across Heinrich-Lübke-Straße, Heinrich-Brauns-Straße, and Peter-Jacobs-Straße, expected to last until November 14. Additionally, the Moseluferstraße between Römerbrücke and Konrad-Adenauer-Brücke will face full closures toward Konz on October 17 and 18 from 7:00 to 15:30 for urgent tree maintenance.
Further along the Mosel, the B53 federal highway will undergo a major renovation starting October 19. The section between the Ürzig roundabout and the bridge near Kinheim will be completely closed to repair cracks and ruts, and to implement barrier-free upgrades for bus stops. This closure is expected to last until November 30, 2026, with detours directed through Lösnich and Zeltingen-Rachtig.
