Trier begins redevelopment works near Römerbrücke

Construction work has begun in Trier-West to redesign open spaces and connect the new Trier-West railway stop. The project focuses on the area surrounding the western head of the Römerbrücke.

Commuters are facing increased traffic congestion due to these works, compounded by an existing lane closure on the Römerbrücke caused by structural damage to its reinforced concrete construction. Additionally, the Moselle riverbank path is currently closed, forcing cyclists to use a detour via Kölner Straße and Luxemburger Straße. The closure of the riverbank path is expected to last until the completion of work on the northern stair descent, which is anticipated in September.
