Trier defeats Promitheas Patras 87-83 in FIBA Europe Cup

Promitheas Patras suffered its first defeat in the FIBA Europe Cup group stage, losing 83-87 to the German side Trier at the ‘Tofalos’ arena. The loss leaves the Patras-based team with a 1-1 record after two matchdays.

Despite a strong performance from New Williams, who led the team with 23 points, and 17 points from Shannon Evans, Promitheas struggled to maintain momentum. Trier controlled much of the game, leading 49-41 at halftime and 73-70 entering the final quarter. Although Promitheas briefly took the lead in the fourth period, Trier responded with key scoring from Lai Brooks, who finished with 18 points and six assists, to secure the away victory.

Michalis Michelakos led the Promitheas bench during the match. The result places Promitheas in a competitive group alongside Trier and Opava.
