Germany conducts widespread regional speed enforcement operations

Various regional authorities across Germany, Luxembourg, and the Saarland are conducting widespread speed enforcement and traffic safety operations.

In the Eifel region, police in Düren conducted targeted speed checks in Heimbach, Hürtgenwald, and Vettweiß, resulting in 128 violations. Notably, a motorcyclist was recorded traveling at 116 km/h in a 50 km/h zone.

In the Trier, Luxembourg, and Saarland regions, police have scheduled radar controls across several motorways and local roads. Similarly, the city of Recklinghausen and the town of Dorsten have announced mobile speed enforcement schedules for mid-September. In Dorsten, authorities are also conducting inspections regarding dog ownership regulations, including the mandatory use of waste bags.

In Saarland, both mobile radar units and permanent stationary speed cameras are being utilized to monitor traffic, with authorities noting a continuous expansion of the stationary camera network.
