Trier road closures create mobility challenges for residents

In Trier-Pallien, the closure of Bonner Straße for the redesign of the area surrounding a new railway stop is causing significant mobility challenges. While the lack of traffic allows wheelchair users to travel on the road itself, the closure forces motorists to take a 15-kilometer detour and creates difficulties for residents. Specifically, the lack of elevator access and the presence of stairs instead of ramps make navigating the area difficult for pedestrians and those with limited mobility, often necessitating the use of taxis for short distances.
