Trieste expands video surveillance network near Rossetti Theatre
The city of Trieste has expanded its urban video surveillance network by installing four wide-angle cameras near the Rossetti Theatre on Viale XX Settembre. These devices have been integrated into the existing municipal system to enhance monitoring in this highly frequented central area and provide operational support to local police and law enforcement.
Regional Councilor for Security Pierpaolo Roberti noted that the footage is increasingly utilized in criminal investigations and serves as a deterrent against vandalism and illicit behavior. In the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, there are currently over 4,000 active surveillance systems, including 1,000 dedicated to license plate recognition. The regional administration continues to support municipalities in expanding coverage to areas currently lacking surveillance.
