Trieste holds memorial tournament for fallen police officers

The city of Trieste held the 7th Memorial Figli delle Stelle, an amateur football tournament organized by the Trieste section of the National Association of the State Police (Anps). The event serves to honor the memory of Assistant Matteo Demenego and Agent Pierluigi Rotta, who were killed on October 4, 2019, inside the Trieste Police Headquarters.

Taking place at the Roianello facility, the tournament featured four teams: emergency medical services (118), journalists, local administrators and politicians, and the State Police. Regional Security Councilor Pierpaolo Roberti attended the event, emphasizing the importance of such initiatives to ensure the sacrifice of the two officers is not forgotten and to pass the history of the tragedy down to new generations.
