Trieste investigation: New forensic evidence in Liliana Resinovich case
New forensic findings have emerged in the investigation into the death of Liliana Resinovich, whose body was discovered in January 2022 near a former psychiatric hospital in Trieste.
Dactyloscopic analysis ordered by a Trieste judge identified four traces on the black bags used to wrap the victim's body. These traces show morphological and dimensional similarities to a black work glove found near the scene. Experts consider these results to provide moderate support for the hypothesis that the glove produced the marks.
While recent DNA analysis on the bags and the victim's jeans was linked to an operator who handled the evidence in July 2023, other biological evidence remains unidentified. Specifically, male DNA found on a cord holding the victim's keys and a hair found on her shirt have not yet been matched to a suspect.
Nicodemo Gentile, the lawyer representing the victim's brother, stated that these developments reinforce the theory of homicide and called for the identification of the perpetrator.
