Trieste Mayor calls for border crossing management reforms

Dipiazza is advocating for the rapid and organized transfer of people from border points to permanent or temporary reception facilities distributed throughout the territory.

The proposed plan requires coordinated inter-institutional cooperation between the State, the Region, and local authorities. Key objectives include establishing logistical corridors, enhancing medical and social services, and providing linguistic mediation to improve security and humanitarian conditions. The mayor emphasizes that moving individuals to adequate structures is necessary to alleviate pressure on border crossings and ensure dignified housing and efficient administrative processing.
