TriestEspressoExpo 2026 opens in Trieste

The 12th edition of TriestEspressoExpo commenced on October 21 at the Generali Convention Center in Trieste, Italy. The biennial event serves as an international hub for the espresso and coffee industrial supply chain, featuring participants from 46 countries.

The exhibition includes B2B meetings, market analysis, training, and competitions, such as the northern selections of the Italian Barista Championships. Discussions at the event highlight significant pressures on the global coffee value chain, including climate change impacts in producing nations, rising energy and transport costs, and logistical tensions in the Red Sea and the Strait of Hormuz.

Market trends noted during the event include a shift toward specialty coffee and sustainability. While Brazilian Arabica harvest estimates for 2026/27 suggest a potential increase in supply, prices remain high. In Italy, coffee bean sales have seen a 33% increase in 2026, while Eastern European markets continue to show vibrant growth despite rising consumer prices.
