Trikala hosts first Grand Prix cross country race

The inaugural event of the new Grand Prix cross country series took place on October 25 at the Trikala Spring track in Greece. Held under heavy rain, the competition served as a primary selection criterion for the national teams in the K20, K23, and senior categories, who will compete in the Balkan Cross Country Championships in Serbia on November 14.

In the senior categories, Vasiliki Kallimogianni and Giorgos Tasoulas recorded the best times. The event featured an innovative format including Open races for K23 and K20 athletes. Notable performances included Despoina Bana, who secured third place in the K16 category and sixth in the combined K16/K18 race.

Other category winners included Angelos Akratos (K12 boys), Thanasis Papadopoulos (K14 boys), Foivos Syrmakedis (K16 boys), Dimitris Pierrakos (K18 boys), and Dimitris Angelakopoulos (K20 boys).
