Trikala Prefecture receives over 600 million euros in infrastructure funding

Minister of Digital Governance and Artificial Intelligence Dimitris Papastergiou has highlighted over 600 million euros in projects funded by the Recovery and Resilience Facility across the Trikala Prefecture. These investments impact the municipalities of Trikala, Meteora, Pyli, and Farakada.

A major portion of the funding, 480 million euros, is dedicated to the E65 highway project connecting Trikala to Egnatia, with 452 million euros provided by the Recovery Fund. Additionally, more than 74 million euros are allocated to repairing road and rail infrastructure damaged by storms Daniel and Elias, including 23 million euros for the Palairofarsa–Kalabaka railway line.

Other investments include nearly 7 million euros for ‘Smart Cities’ initiatives in Trikala, 17 million euros for urban interventions, and approximately 8 million euros for environmental protection and tourism paths. The funding also covers spatial planning, digital infrastructure, and healthcare improvements.
