Trikala urban redevelopment project progresses on Karditsis Street

The Mayor of Trikala, Nikos Sakkas, and Deputy Mayor of Technical Works, Panagiotis Dintis, inspected ongoing construction on Karditsis Street. The project is part of the ‘Urban Redevelopment in the City of Trikala – Sub-project 3’ initiative.

The works aim to improve safety and mobility for both pedestrians and drivers. Key features include the creation of sidewalks with variable widths of 2 to 3 meters, the installation of ramps for people with disabilities, and the implementation of new LED lighting systems with remote central control capabilities. The project also focuses on greenery and preventing vehicle access to sidewalks and bike paths.

Funded by the European Recovery Fund with a budget of €1,800,000, the project is being implemented by Heron S.A. This initiative is the second phase of a larger plan to fully remodel the southern entrance of the city, complementing the ‘Environmental and Aesthetic Upgrade of the Southern City Entrance’ project.
