Trilj residents organize protest over energy infrastructure

Residents of the Dalmatian Zagora region are organizing a protest in Trilj, scheduled for September 4 at 8:00 AM in front of the City of Trilj building. The demonstration is a response to concerns regarding the development of energy infrastructure, including wind farms, power lines, transformer stations, and access roads.

Jure Ivančević, a resident of Budimir, has challenged Trilj Mayor Ivan Bugarin following the mayor's claims that the protest is politically motivated by the SDP. Ivančević stated that the movement is not a matter of left-wing or right-wing politics, but rather a defense of the land, water, nature, and the future of the local community.

Ivančević has called on Mayor Bugarin to present public documentation regarding what has been approved and the planned routes for the infrastructure. He emphasized that the community seeks answers regarding the potential impact of these projects on local villages, cultural heritage, and the daily lives of residents.
