Trilj residents protest planned energy infrastructure projects

Residents in the Trilj region, including areas across Cetina, Imotski, and Omiš, have organized a protest to voice concerns regarding large-scale energy projects and planned infrastructure development.

Protesters are seeking transparency regarding the total number of planned projects, including wind farms, solar plants, substations, and high-voltage power lines. They are demanding a unified, detailed map from the City of Trilj, Split-Dalmatia County, and relevant ministries that shows exactly which land parcels will be affected and how close infrastructure will be to residential homes.

Beyond energy, citizens expressed concerns about the protection of groundwater, agricultural land, forests, and cultural heritage sites, including archaeological locations and sacred heritage. There is also urgent demand for clarification regarding reported road construction near the Biorine settlement, as residents seek to identify the investors and contractors involved.
