Trina Solar launches 515W high‑efficiency rooftop panel for Australia
Chinese solar manufacturer Trina Solar unveiled its new Vertex S+ 515 W rooftop photovoltaic module at the Smart Energy Conference in Sydney. The panel, designed specifically for the Australian residential and commercial market, delivers a maximum efficiency of about 24.7 % and incorporates the company's n‑type i‑TOPCon ultra‑cell architecture, zero‑busbar, zero‑gap technology and double‑glass construction. Its lower‑voltage design provides greater flexibility for string sizing and inverter selection, allowing more power to be packed into the standard 2.09 m² module footprint.
The launch responds to Australia’s rapid home‑battery uptake, which is driving a surge in rooftop solar installations. Trina expects the module to be available for preorder now and in Australia by early Q3, with warranties of up to 25 years for the product and 30 years for power output.
