Trinamool Congress faces court setbacks in West Bengal

The Calcutta High Court has been asked by the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) to challenge the legality of a pre‑dawn police raid on the residence of party leader Abhishek Banerjee. The court ordered the state to file its response and directed preservation of CCTV and body‑cam footage of the June 13 operation, which the party alleges was an excess of police power.

In a separate matter, the same court declined an urgent hearing on TMC's petition against the freezing of the party's bank accounts, noting that the case does not merit immediate listing and will be dealt with in the regular schedule. The account restrictions, imposed by central investigating agencies, have been said to hinder routine party operations.
