Trinamool Congress plans massive Kolkata protest march
The Trinamool Congress (TMC), led by Mamata Banerjee, has announced a massive protest march in Kolkata scheduled for Tuesday. The rally aims to demand the resignation and arrest of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, whom the party accuses of facilitating electoral fraud.
The march, organized by the party’s student and youth wings, is set to begin at 2 pm from the Rajabazar area and proceed toward Park Circus. The protest also targets the Central government, alleging the suppression of democracy and opposition leaders, and protests Banerjee’s recent detention in New Delhi.
While TMC spokesperson Kunal Ghosh indicated he would join the march, it remains uncertain if Mamata Banerjee will lead the procession due to her ongoing engagements in Delhi. The party has called upon its women’s, trade union, and youth wings to participate. It is currently unclear if the Kolkata Police have granted permission for the event.
